Interesting February 2011

What a month this has been…..  12 inches of snow in Dallas, Superbowl 2011 , 4 more inches of snow, almost 1 week stuck at home with kids + chores + more of working remotely, SQLSaturday#63 screaming for attention and top it all off with an application process for SQLRally 2012 and finally rolling out an exciting piece of application that I have been working on around Data Governance. It just could not get busier.

Personally I am very excited about the fact that we submitted the application to Host SQLSaturday 2012. It took me about 20 hours and about 80+ emails from various people, vendors to get everything in together. I believe we have put a super strong proposal that is going to make PASS look very hard at us.

Then comes the process of voting for the host city. I will update this blog as the voting begins.

The SQLSaturday #63 activities are going at jet speed. We just finalized the first draft of sessions and sent speakers letting them know about their selection. The team voted to bring Paciugo Gelato back in. This is our trademark for our event and we hope to continue this as long as the vendor does not dramatically increase the prices.

SQLSaturday#63-Pre-con : I am super excited to announce that we will have a SQLSaturday#63 pre-con. We are doing this for the first time.

Karla Landrum in her recent blog talked about SQLSaturday attendee profile. I had some numbers from SQLSaturday 35 and wanted to see how the numbers looked for SQLSaturday 56 ( BI Edition ) and for SQLSaturday 63 ( coming up on April 2nd ). Here is how it looks.
